Frequently Asked Questions

What is Indie Access?
Indie Access is a Producer's and Production Manager's dream resource. It is a database full of contact and background information for people working in every department in film, including actors. It is a place where people can find people seeking work in film, video, and multimedia. By registering with Indie Access, you will receive a weekly email letting you know about productions actively seeking crew and cast in your city. You may also choose to receive this information for other cities as well.

How Does It Work?
Producers generate lists from Indie Access when they are looking for crew or holding casting sessions for their projects. Producers have free access to the resume information of job seekers to help them find what they need.

What Kinds of Films Use Indie Access?
Indie Access is called upon for Independent Feature Films, Short Films, Music Videos, and Industrial Videos. Indie Access has also been used on union shows when no union members were available.

What if I am a student or recent film school grad? I don't have any experience. I mean like zero. Is Indie Access still a good idea for me?
Yes, absolutely. Lower-budgeted features and short films are often willing to take on volunteers, particularly if they can't afford more experienced people. This is usually how most people who work in film get their start. Registering with Indie Access gets your name in front of Producers and Production Managers who are looking for people.

I'm making my own film. Can I use Indie Access?
Of course! It is free to access the database.

Do you guarantee me a job?
It would be unrealistic and unprofessional to guarantee that any particular person would get any particular job. Since Indie Access is a resource and does not do the hiring, we cannot make any guarantees. Though we are not in the guarantee business, we have been around since 1998, so we must be doing something right.

Do you take a percentage of my pay on a job I get through Indie Access?
No. Indie Access does not negotiate your rate of pay, or collect any fees or percentages. Your rate is between you and the producer or production manager on any given film.

How much does it cost to register with Indie Access?
Please see our price structure.

I'm an Actor or Extra, and I have an agent or manager. Can I still join Indie Access?
