FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How does Indie Access work?

Indie Access works in two ways. First, it allows non-union film workers to post information about themselves, kind of like on-line resumes. Second, it allows producers and production companies to access the database of these resumes, for hiring purposes. Indie Access serves as a bridge between people who want to work, and people who need workers.

How much does this service cost?

There is no charge to access the Indie Access database. You need only provide information about the production you represent. There is, however, a charge for workers to create their on-line listing.

Do I have to pay the workers I contact through Indie Access?

That is between you and the worker. Each listing will note whether or not the worker is willing to work on a volunteer basis.

Do I have to pay Indie Access for any workers I find through the database?

No. There is no charge to access or use the database.

How do I get people to work for me for free?

Many Indie Access registrants are willing to work on a volunteer basis. Consult their listings for more information.

What do the abbreviations in the "past work" listings mean?

Past work is categorized through simple abbreviations:

FF - Feature Film
SF - Short Film
MOW - Movie of the Week
DOC - Documentary
COM - Commercial (Television)
TVS - Television Series
TV1 - Television 1-off
MV - Music Video
TH - Theatre / Stage

I've only got a very small budget. Can Indie Access still help me?

Yes. Many of the people registered with Indie Access will consider volunteer gigs. Rates of pay are between you and the people you hire on your film. There is no charge to access the Indie Access database.
